Work Mentality vs Taking a Break

Coach Danyell

In our current climate, we have been conditioned to work twenty-four- seven and maintain a hustler and entrepreneur mentality. It is wonderful to achieve multiple streams of incomes and create self-employment, however, at what cost? Social media and marketing create an environment of only sleep and work hard, but self-care, self-improvement, social relationships, and family life is also important. When is it time to take a break? How do you find time to take a much-needed break? Join me, Coach Danyell, as we discuss break tips for content creators, entrepreneurs, and hustlers…

First, with being self-employed or having multiple side hustles you may feel as though you do not have time to take a break. However, we need to know that it is okay to take a break or pause. It is okay! Give yourself permission to take a much-needed break to gain back your spark and creativity. As humans we are constantly being stimulated from social media to make more money, spend money, and live an extravagant lifestyle. In regard to our mental health, we must maintain a good work life balance.

Second, how do you know it is time for a break? Have you been feeling burnt out? Zero creativity? Are you finding it hard to sit down and create content? Tired of editing and unable to get it done? All of the above may be indicators of needing a break or pause with your business or side ventures. If your content or posts have been subpar because of your lack of creativity, taking a break may help you to take gain outside insight and motivation for more productive content. When taking a step back, you may open yourself up to additional experiences or inspiration that you were not being given previously.

Third, how do you proceed with scheduling a break? If you are providing scheduled content for your followers, how do you plan your breaks or a pause with content? My two recommendations would be to pre-schedule your content postings and content scheduling at least 30 days out. Having content scheduled and created ahead of time will allow you to stay ahead and automate your posted content.

Fourth, what ways do you disconnect or take a break? A few ways you can disconnect may be temporarily deleting social media or mail applications, migrating your duties, or hiring an assistant. Giving yourself permission to deleting Instagram, Tik Tok, or Facebook will allow you to mentally disconnect from social media and focus on self-care and achieving a great work life balance. Become comfortable with migrating your duties to another trustworthy person in your business or an assistant temporarily.

Finally, a bonus tip is to develop your time management. With great time management skills, scheduling breaks, pauses, or vacations, will be easier and less of a hassle. Time management encompasses all the tips above for having a successful business that runs smooth and carefree. Scheduling content, events, promotions ahead of time and navigating any foreseeable issues will allow you to manage any headaches effectively and swiftly.
